Dinosaur (T Rex) Costume

This wasn’t a Halloween costume, but it very easily could have been. This was for Dinosaur Day at Bambino’s school. Ours was a T Rex, but this could be adapted for almost any dinosaur.

Materials:

  • red unitard (or some kind of under layer)

  • dinosaur tail

  • poster board

  • staples

  • markers

I can’t take credit for this costume. My husband made this dinosaur head from poster board and then colored it with markers. He has some serious skills with paper!

The tail was left over from a dinosaur birthday party several years ago. And the red suit has had many lives. But you see how simple elements can come together to make a fantastic costume. It doesn’t have to cost a ton of money!

Here’s my biggest tip: start with a basic unitard. They are inexpensive, come in a ton of different colors, and you can add lots of different pieces to them to create different looks. Plus: they are fun for dress-up after Halloween! Another option I love: Primary Pajamas. They come in great colors, and your kids can wear them to bed afterwards!
